Home Sweet Home

We are finally getting our new place together and I have finally taken some photos of it to share. I am so glad to call it ours. All the searching and headaches we went through to buy our first place were all worth it in the end because it lead us here. We couldn't be more happy about staying in the Alexandria area and are looking forward to the years ahead in our home.

Outside: We love the fact that our place is unpainted brick. Some of the units here are painted, but we both like the exposed brick more. We love being able to leave the front door open and have the glass one closed. It let's in so much natural light, and the cats enjoy squirrel watching.

We've painted the living room a soft creme color, but now we realize how bad the kitchen needs a paint job. It'll have to wait for now, so it's still just plain white. However, the red island helps give it a splash of color. 

I was so happy when we eventually bought our dining table. At last, no more dinners on the futon!!

And my desk area is awesome. It felt good to throw out my crappy Ikea desk and chair from college and get some thing more grown up. Plus the cats have managed to stay off of it . . . at least when we're home.

And finally our grown up couch! Good bye futon!! Well, sorta good bye . . . we still have it, but it will soon be going to a good home and will be replaced with my grandparents' Eames chair (much like the one pictured below). So stoked about that!!

So, slowly, but surely it's all coming together :)
